New contruction at the Jena University Clinic, 2nd building phase

The new contruction at the University Clinic Jena has created the largest clinic in Thuringia. Clinics and clinical institutions still located in the inner city will be integrated into the Jena-Lobeda site by 2017. The result will be improved medical care and increased commercial viability of the clinic.
On an effective area of approx. 44,800m² there will be a further 12 operating theatres, 3 medical centres with 15 clinics and institutes plus 2 lecture theatres, 10 seminar rooms and a second cafeteria with 250 seats. The number of beds will increase by 731, including IMC and BMT.
AJZ Engineering is carrying out the medical and laboratory planning for this project according to service phases 1-7 of the HOAI (German standard fees for architecture).
